This Garden is No Eden

If there are morals to the story

of Creation and the Garden
they may be that God failed to see
how powerful was curiosity
 he'd added accidentally 

If God had really loved them
he'd made like him as his companions
why the need to test obedience
with a trap baited with wisdom?
(So much for his omniscience!)

 When God saw they'd disobeyed him
He cursed, "Get out of this Garden"
but they'd soon gained the wisdom
to leave slavery for their freedom
yelled "Go to Hell. We're leaving!"

Epochs later when their issue
were creating their Religions
they taught their disciples
 ancestors' had made a bad decision.
Evil Eve'seduced Adam from innocence

Jump forward three thousand years
in which both good Jews and Christians
 deeply rooted in women's oppression
so much the world still belongs to men
if not for Eve, would live in Heaven

Unholy Israel

Israel is iconic
 a so-called Holy Land

which is, of all nations,
most ironic:

A people no different
from the pathetic rest of us
 nearly extincted by fascistic
genocide of what's ethnic;
Europes refugees rejected
from Israels new boundaries
as victims of their own weakness
unlike the newly enfranchiled
Jews for whom
the UK and USA
stole the nation of Palestine
encamped that people
to create an imaginary country
from the Bible as a safe place
from which controlling oil
of Middle East countries
would be easy
for a while at least

 ethnic cleansing
by fascists

now allow their military
to occupy illegally
 a neighboring country

and when Muslim kids
get out of school,
Israeli soldiers
taunt them
 through the tall fence,
 toss over bricks
and if they pick up

they shoot them dead
                                                  ....... for kicks

Kiss My Aphorisms

"What doesn't kill you makes you stronger"

could not be wronger:

Constant lies, rip-offs and being cheated
wears us down til we're defeated

Some folks call it mystery
what prevents their succeeding,
and wait on Divine Intervention
for both cause and resolution
of the path they're living

Some folks rely on discovering
for themselves
 the causes of effects unwanted
and for fashioning a solution
and options for prevention
and if necessary, protection

"Just Be Yourself"

Leaves unsaid too many
unacknowledged caveats,
for example: 

unless your norms differ
from your company 

or irritate authority
or attract suspicion
or engender derision 
or precede rejection
or violence on your person
or damage in your profession
or deny you safety options
during plague or conflagration
or generally piss off
the meanest dowager queen
of everything that stalks
